Programme Leaders, Alison & Caroline, are both experienced academics with a shared passion in supporting international students during their transition from their home country into coming to live and study in the UK.
Caroline developed the Intercultural Transition Programme at the University of Lincoln, providing intercultural training and networking platforms for international students to build a trusted 3rd space to communicate. Alison designed the online Academic Skills element which, together with the Intercultural Training, provided a holistic platform to prepare students for the new culture and learning experience ahead.
The Intercultural Transition Programme was initially launched in Lincoln International Business School. The continual development and success of the programme extended the programme university wide.
This inspired Alison and Caroline to utilise this tried and tested transitional support system for international students, to develop Global Scholar to give all transitioning international students the opportunity to build their intercultural and academic skills knowledge to help enhance their overseas learning and living experience.
Global Scholar is a holistic online training programme, encompassing 2 learning hubs, Intercultural Training and Academic Skills, to assist you in the transition of studying and living in the UK.
The programme is 100% online which enables you to engage with the content in your own time and at your own pace. Each presentation is accompanied by an Activity Workbook which enables you to contextually build on your understanding of each of the topics presented.
Upon completion you will be able to engage in the final Knowledge Quiz for each of the 2 learning hubs, and on successful completion you will receive a Global Scholar digital certificate.
